Scope in Nursing

The door of nursing studies opens after passing of the SLC examinations in minimum 45% or above. Nursing profession itself is a rewarding and service oriented. The profession is in high demand nowadays and has globally become a much sought after profession. Demand of well qualified nurses is growing everyday in Nepal and abroad. Increasing number of Hospital, nursing home, Clinics and Medical colleges inside the countries will create hundreds of vacancies annually. Western world and the gulf countries are in shortage of nurses. However it should not mean that all nurses of Nepal can go abroad.

Equal importance should be given to English language. Roughly speaking, a score of 7 in each band of IELTS test can open doors to many countries. In Nepal more than 2300 staff nurses, 200 BN nurses and 250 B.Sc nurses qualify each year and most of them are absorded within Nepal. More than 300 nurses go abroad for job and higher education. Improvement in English language or alternate European language (French, Denish, German etc) can increase the number of outgoing nurses by many folds.

  • Admission cost in TU is about Rs. 25,000 and total cost in three years is about Rs.70,000.
  • Cost in Lalitpur Nursing college is roughly 2,50,000 for three years.
  • It takes around Rs. 90,000 in Bir hospital (NAMS)
  • The total cost for three years in BPKIHS Dharan is about Rs. 75,000.
  • Cost in colleges under KU is Rs three and half lacks.
  • The cost is colleges under CTEVT varies according to the reputation and facilities provided by the college however it is roughly Rs 3.25 to 4.5 lacks.
  • The above mentioned cost is for tuitional and does not cover food and accommodation.
